You can also see “Real Stories of Recovery” (testimonial videos) from local families and friends of loved ones, sharing their experiences with the SUD treatment and recovery journey.

The Connect Protect Recover Campaign’s SUD Recovery Education 101 video series is a foundational guide for BIPOC families who have loved ones struggling with or navigating the journey of recovery from substance-use disorders (addiction).

This five-episode video series helps you understand more about the process and provides family members and close friends with some basic information about treatment and recovery from an addiction or substance use disorder (SUD), including some of its most common recovery language and terminology. So, they can make informed choices about the path that works best for you and your loved one. These videos also include information on why you need to maintain your own emotional wellness in this stressful time, to remain engaged in the process.

This video series, SUD Recovery Education 101, has five episodes:

Episode 1: What You Need to Know to Start the Treatment/Recovery Journey

Episode 2: Traditional Treatment Methods for Substance Use Disorders
