Connect with the Campaign to learn about and take advantage of County-funded resources focused on connecting underserved low-income County residents to the right drug and alcohol treatment and recovery services for them when they are ready. The Campaign also has robust supports for families, to help them feel less alone and more equipped to deal with the potential twists-and-turns of their loved one’s journey to recovery.

As a Grassroots Community Leader
Grassroots community leaders are influencers who have built credible and trusting relationships with their peers, neighbors, colleagues and others. They are problem-solvers, helping connect people with resources that can make a difference. Being informed of the resources available through CPR will allow you to actively support relatives and friends of someone in active addiction or who is making their way through the journey to recovery.

We welcome collaborations with committed community leaders and organizations who see the value in engaging neighbors and residents that are too often overlooked and underserved. For many of these individuals, grassroots community leaders are credible advocates who, in many ways, are already serving as “family.” They provide the social connectedness that can keep the village strong. In addition to the ways listed above for families, as community leaders, there are other ways you can Get Involved:
1 Attend a “Chat & Chew” to Learn More About Connect Protect Recover
-
- Chat & Chews are small-group information sessions designed to bring key community leaders and stakeholders together to learn about the campaign’s intent and desired outcomes, and how all sectors of the community can get engaged as an active partner. Our grassroots attendees are the real “experts” on what kind of SUD information their community needs and what barriers residents have faced in getting services.

As a County-Funded Provider
DHS-funded providers have an obligation to engage with members of the County’s diverse communities, in an effort to reduce some of the current disparities in who accesses and benefits from SUD harm-reduction, treatment and recovery services. The Campaign includes no-cost training and technical assistance that can make you more effective in reaching previously underserved audiences. Partners are eligible for workshops that will improve their communication skills and their ability to build credibility and trusting relationships with the residents facing the highest health and social disparities, increasing both impact and effectiveness of the County’s SUD recovery and treatment initiatives.
